Classroom:Expected to graduate in May 2007 with a degree in cultural anthropology, three-time ACC Honor Roll selection, interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
Character:Bales is currently involved in a program call CAPE (Collegiate Athlete Pre-Medical Experience), a year-round program offered by Duke University Medical Center to female athletes on Duke University's, providing participants with a wide variety of clinical experiences that provide exposure to the world of Medicine.
Community:Involved with the Ronald McDonald House for the past four years. She would visits the house twice a year, involved for the past four years with the Read with the Blue Devils, helped teammate Lindsey Harding with Special Olympics events coaching and spending time with the athletes. Currently coaching an 11-12 year old recreation league girls team in Durham.
Competition:Named the Bridgeport Regional MVP in the 2006 NCCA Tournament earned NCAA Final Four all-tournament team accolades. Earned All-ACC Defensive team honors in 2004-2005. Preseason candidate for the National Player of the Year by Naismith, Wooden Award and State Farm Wade Trophy.
