Classroom:Watts owns a 2.898 grade point average in business management at one of the Midwest's top private institutions. He was a Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team Honorable-Mention selection in 2005-06 and has been the Prairie Farms/MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week once.
Character:Watts is a captain and leader of the 2007-08 Creighton team. A member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he spent 10 days in France during the summer of 2006 travelling with Athletes in Action.
Competition:Watts enters his senior season with 86 consecutive starts dating to midway through his freshman season. He is the only returning starter for a program that owns nine straight 20-win seasons and 10 straight postseason bids. He averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a junior in 2006-07. He had nine games with 10 or more rebounds in 2006-07, the most by any Bluejay in the same season since 1993-94. Watts hit two free throws with the score tied and 7.5 seconds left to beat George Mason on 11/25/06. He had a career-high 21 points to go with 10 rebounds and four assists in a win over Houston (12/22/06). He was named to the Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team (Dec. 2006). The team is 19-5 all-time when he scores 11 or more points. He played half his sophomore year with mono and averaged 7.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He averaged 6.9 points and 3.0 rebounds as a freshman and earned MVC All-Freshman Team honors.
