Classroom:Kaylor has already earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a GPA of 3.08. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education with a GPA of 3.76 and expects to earn the degree in August 2008. She was a member of the Dean’s List during the fall of 2006. She plans to pursue a career teaching elementary school while also coaching high school girls’ basketball.
Character:According to head coach Debbie Taylor, Kaylor "is the most amazing young lady I have encountered." As a player and three-year captain, she has elevated the program, rewritten record books and changed the way people look at W&M women’s basketball. More importantly, she will leave a lasting imprint on the university, her teammates and coaches and the lives of the young children in the Williamsburg community. Kaylor believes in what is right and what is fair and will defend it without regard for her popularity. She believes in doing her best and living in the moment whether it is on the court, in the classroom or spending a few moments with a small child. She can light up a room just by entering it and elevate the spirit of those around her with her smile and contagious laugh. Whether she is speaking to a room of 200 donors or a team of 8 year olds at camp, her sincerity, passion, kindness, sense of humor and love for life and people always comes shining through. She is honest, trustworthy, responsible and mature beyond her years. Taylor added that Kaylor is the team's best player, its hardest worker, most unselfish individual and the best example of what being a true student-athlete and a good person is all about.
Competition:Kaylor is recognized as the greatest player in the program’s history. She enters her senior season with 1,411 career points and needs just 101 more to break the school record. She is also just 190 rebounds away from becoming the program’s all-time leading rebounder. She ranks second at W&M with 85 career blocks. She was the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year in 2005-06 as a sophomore and is a two-time first-team All-CAA honoree. She was the nation’s fourth-best rebounder during her sophomore season (11.9 rpg) and ranked 24th nationally in scoring (18.6 ppg). She set the William and Mary single-season scoring (522) and rebounding (334) marks that season. Her 21 double-doubles tied for second best nationally. She was a third-team All-CAA selection as a freshman and has led the team in scoring and rebounding in each of her first three years.
