Classroom:Shubik has a 3.61 grade point average in sports management and was named the Northeast Conference men’s basketball Scholar Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of his junior season.
Character:Shubik is a team co-captain. He's the first kid in the gym for practice and the last to leave. He leads by example.
Competition:Shubik established a number of career highs this past season, averaging 9.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals to help lead the Pioneers to their first NEC championship game appearance and first winning season at the Division I level. According to his coach, "Drew is as hard a worker as we've ever had here. He's very conscientious on both the court and, obviously, in the classroom as well." Shubik ranked second in the league in both steals and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.83:1), and finished eighth in assists and field goal percentage (.491). Shubik, who scored in double digits 13 times over the course of the season, including a career-high 28 in a win over Robert Morris on January 18, was a key contributor in Sacred Heart's postseason run, averaging 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. The Stoystown, Pennsylvania, native will enter his senior campaign with 677 career points.
