Statistics: Height6'0    PPG7.3    RPG7.2    APG1.0
Classroom:Scott is an English major with a 3.47 cumulative grade point average at Dartmouth College, one of the nation's most prestigious academic institutions and a member of the Ivy League. She will graduate in May 2008. Dartmouth follows a four-term academic calendar, enabling flexibility in its students' schedules. Last spring, Scott took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad, spending three months in Mexico in a foreign study program. She speaks very fondly of the experience that allowed her to immerse herself in Mexican culture, become fluent in Spanish, travel the country and engage in everything from casual conversations to political discussions with the Mexican people. Scott also spent an off-term interning for Kay Bailey Hutchison, the United States Senator from Texas, her home state. She plans to attend law school following her graduation from Dartmouth. In 2007, she was honored by Diverse Issues in Higher Education as an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar honorable mention recipient.
Character:Scott is an emotional and confident basketball player and person - she puts 100 percent of herself into everything she does, on and off the court. During her time at Dartmouth, she has become a role model for her teammates and the community while evolving as a person and a leader. As a senior co-captain, she holds herself accountable and challenges her teammates and peers to act with the same level of self-respect. She thinks about what she says and stands by her word. Scott represents the best in college athletics not only by her academic and athletic prowess, but also through her dedication to team, school, family and self. One of the best ways to illustrate the character and courage of Scott is the way she plays basketball. At 6-0, she is smaller than most post players she encounters - but she outscores and outrebounds her opponents on a regular basis thanks to a great combination of competitiveness and skill.
Community:Since her freshman year, Scott has been an active participant in various team activities involving community service. As a senior, she is in charge of organizing various volunteer events for her team. Events she has participated in include serving (and cleaning up after) a Thanksgiving dinner at a local church; basketball clinics at local elementary schools with the team; annual skills clinics at Dartmouth for area youth; a free mini-clinic with one other teammate at a local school; spending time with elderly residents at an assisted living facility, and an individual service trip to help with a youth activity day in Boston. Outside of volunteering, Scott has consistently been a great role model for Dartmouth's many young fans. Her team is popular in the community and well-recognized around the small town, and Scott always takes time for the children who come to games, serving as a great role model for them.
Competition:Scott was an all-conference (second team All-Ivy, Ivy all-rookie team) forward as a junior. She has played significant time since her freshman year and has been a starter since she was a sophomore. During her three years, she has helped Dartmouth to two Ivy League championships and a postseason appearance each year - NCAA Tournament in 2005 and 2006 and WNIT in 2007. Entering her senior year, she has a career average of 8.4 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. As a junior, she improved her rebounding average to 8.2 rebounds per game, up from an average of 6.0 her sophomore year. She is a fierce competitor - increasing her rebounding and scoring output and minutes played each season of her career - and a natural team leader on and off the court. She plays with a confidence that spreads to her teammates and despite being undersized at 6-0, simply will not be denied on the court. This is clearly illustrated by her ranking second in the conference in rebounding (average of 8.2 overall and 8.7 in conference) - second only to a 6-5 center and ahead of many bigger players.
