Classroom:A sport management major, Weaver plans to pursue a career in sport, hoping to serve as a coach and mentor for young athletes.
Character:A verbal leader on and off the court, Weaver has shown strong the ability to help out his teammates. Weaver is always the first to correct and help out his teammates in practice, serving as a mentor for the younger student-athletes on the team. A popular figure on campus and in the community, Weaver brings a postitive attitude and energy everywhere he goes.
Community:Prior to attending WSU, Weaver was been an active member of the community. In his native Beloit, Wis., Weaver worked at Helping Urban Beloit and officiated basketball games for the Boys and Girls Club. In Pullman, Weaver helps with basketball camps and clinics and is involved with several community activities, such as serving meals in the community.
Competition:Weaver has become one of the most exciting and productive players in WSU history. He earned All-Pacific-10 First Team, National Association of Basketball Coaches District 14 First Team and Collegeinsider.com Pacific-10 MVP honors. He became the first student-athlete in Pac-10 history to have at least 300 points, 125 rebounds, 125 assists, 50 steals and 35 blocks in the same season. He and his teammate became the first Cougars to represent the USA in the Pan American Games, starting the first two games.
