She was third team academic all-American and was a Presidential Scholar-Athlete nominee.
Character:Rudolphi is president of Indiana State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Council, selected by fellow student-athletes. She is also captain of the ISU women's basketball team and volunteers her time to speak to students at area elementary schools and for charity work with United Way and the Covered Bridge Girl Scouts. ISU had a young lady during the season lose her mother to a battle with breast cancer. Laura helped that player through the toughest time of her life. Her leadership, a shoulder to cry on and friendship to the rest of her teammates was exceptional. The team began wearing Pink Ribbons on their uniforms and took part in a Pink Out at Hulman Center and will do it again this season.
Community:Rudolphi is involved with the Covered Bridge Girl Scouts of America in clinics and talks to the girls about school and athletics. She is the first one to volunteer for the United Way programs that help with underpriviledge children receiving books. She represents the university at school assemblies, talking with kids about balancing school and athletics. Rudolphi has been a leader in many categories, but to have the respect of her fellow student-athletes speaks tremendously of her leadership and community involvement.
Competition:Rudolphi holds the school record for block shots with 102 entering the season -- 19th best in Missouri Valley Conference history. Her .553 field goal percentage during the 2006-07 season was third best in the history of the program. Her 37 blocks last season was second best in school history. She also had 37 blocks as a sophomore. She has helped the Sycamores reach two WNIT tournament's and the finals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. As Rudolphi goes, so go the Sycamores. Her value to this team comes in many different areas from rebounding, which gets the fast break going, to her defensive ability in altering shots, to her double figure scoring. Rudolphi can change the game with her play. Her value to her team is also felt in the locker room. One of three seniors on this year's club, she is looked to for leadership and poise and is someone that all the girls can talk with.
