Classroom:Henke entered his senior year with a cumulative 3.76 grade point average during his time at Santa Clara. Having taken extra courses, Henke is on track to graduate following Santa Clara's winter quarter with a degree in finance. He is a three-time member of the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll and has twice been named WCC All-Academic. In addition, he earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII team in 2006-07 and was Division I-AAA Scholar Athlete Honorable Mention that year.
Character:Henke has been an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee during most of his career at Santa Clara and is currently president of that organization. As president, he has helped organize food and clothing drives for the local community as well as helping develop initiatives to improve the student-athlete experience at SCU. His character carries over to the court as well, having never received a technical foul during his career at Santa Clara. He is also someone who does not complain to the officials and just gets on with the game no matter what happens. He has been named team co-captain for the 2007-2008 season.
Competition:Henke has appeared in 86 of 91 possible games coming into his senior season and was averaging 6.2 points per game and 3.8 rebounds a contest. After starting just one game as a freshman in 2004-05, Henke had a great sophomore season, averaging 9.4 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game as the starting small forward. He started all 29 games and played 28.9 minutes per game. He saved his biggest games for the best opponents, scoring 17 points on the road at Gonzaga and then posting 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against Loyola Marymount. As a junior, he started the first 13 games of the season before being slowed by an ankle sprain. Despite the injury, Henke still appeared in 30 out of 31 games and averaged 6.9 points per game and 4.0 rebounds. He helped Santa Clara to one its best seasons in recent memory as the team went 21-10 and 10-4 in the WCC to finish second behind Gonzaga. The Broncos also ended Gonzaga's 50-game home winning streak.
