Classroom:Jones will graduate in May with a degree in agricultural leadership. He earned Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2006. As an incoming freshman, Jones tested out of several hours.
Character:An outstanding leader, Jones has been elected team captain by his teammates for a fourth straight year (the only four-time captain in school history).
Competition:Jones is listed among the top 50 candidates for the Wooden Award for the second straight year. He was named MVP of the 2007 Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off, was an all-America candidate and a consensus preseason first-team All-Big 12 pick. He earned consensus second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2006 and 2007. He was a two-time NABC all-district selection and was named to the 2007 Big 12 All-Defense Team and named to the 2005 Freshman All-America Team. He earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2005 and was tabbed for the Big 12 All-Freshman Team. He has started in every game in his college career and was named to the 2004 USA Basketball Junior National Select Team. For his career, he averages 14.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line.
